Within just one year afmusic got off to a lightning start. The most innovative netlabel in Germany for Darkwave, Gothic and Independent Music celebrates on the label founder Falk Merten’s birthday their release-anniversary and distributes big presents to their fans – and that are 16 in number on this fiftieth publication.

All are on this Anniversary-Compilation “AFMUSIC #50″. Exactly one dozen of it are previously unreleased or recorded exclusively for this release. Beside many known afmusic-acts the sampler also presents an absolutely new band. Therefore, it is less a retrospective, than even more a look in the future of the label.

“AFMUSIC #50″ indicates not only the variety and versatility of the present releases, but also their high musical and artistic quality. LATRISTE – the newest member of the label family – immediately deliver with her first song a potential hit single. SMOKE FISH and EMERALD PARK contribute dark-coloured pop pearls of the grade 1A and CONFUSION IS NEXT are represented, just like LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE with a dreadfully nice ballad. Thereby the music ranges from Shoegaze to the sturdy Alternative rock.

SPINEFISH, (((S))) and ART NOIR provide for the dark sound-collage which hold together “AFMUSIC #50″ and lend a breathtaking atmosphere to the album.

In between the big potential of a lot of afmusic-bands flashes: The label-draught-horses ALL:MY:FAULTS cement with a never been there mixture of 8-bit Postmetal and spoken words their exceptional position as the most innovative German band of the scene. STROMBLE FIX’s “Dispirited” is more progressively Hybrid from Grunge and Deathrock, “Enjoy” of REPTILE71 is more sombre than the legendary “Drowning one” and CAMP Z present a modern version of the Sisters Of Mercy.

Crowning end of the completely successful afmusic-show is the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” cover, which is the most stretching cover with wide distance of this decade.

Already on 06/29/09 the current single “Insane Inside” appeared by the band from Brest (France). Immediately on 08/03/09 it starts with a new EP called “The generation of this order” by the Italian alternative rockers CONFUSION IS NEXT. On 08/10/09 there is also an album with a huge number of demos, remixes and live recordings of the Brazilian Gothic rock volume PLASTIQUE NOIR. In addition we will publish the download and all infos in a contemporary way on our web page.

On 08/21/09 then we have the highlight of the month with the CD release of the album “Ghost” of the Danes (((S))) which is published only digitally up to now. On the CD two songs which are not included in the download-package are “Fusty” and “Ghost in the snow”. Moreover, are as a bonus the videos of “Mesmerized” and “Fall With Me” on the album.

And last, but not least we will publish on 08/31/09 the debut album of the Russian Cyber-Gothic-Industrialrock band CYBER SNAKE with the simple name “Internet Album”.

In Dust: 2000 – 2003 is a compilation album existing of 11 tracks Dutch musician Paul Tetteroo recorded under project name Reptile71 over a period of three years. Though Reptile71 was clearly influenced by early 80′s new wave, minimal synth and post-punk bands such as Joy Division, New Order, The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, (early) OMD, Talk Talk, (early) Simple Minds and The Wake (UK), and the more spiritual music like Dead Can Dance, he still managed to create a unique sound.

From the eastern sounding All Wrong till the static Saved, in which samples are showing the contrast between war and peace, the album makes you dream away in a melancholic hypnotizing atmosphere, telling stories of struggles in relationships and life itself, giving us a glimpse in Paul’s view of life and sharing feelings of pain, despair and hope with the listener.

The album is available on CD since 01/07/2009 at Sounds for Sure (NL) and will be available on 02/23/2009 worldwide in all popular download stores.
