REBENTISCH: A name, a band, three strong men who now what they don’t want and with their new album arrange for a bugging operation of a very special kind.

REBENTISCH surprise in a new line-up with their album “EMPATHIE” and a lot of courage for a change. Leaves are falling from te trees and days become shorter. Autumn begins. The radical growing melancholy and the simultaneous wish for joy, luck and warmth control the nation’s emotional life in these days.

The artistic trio around the vocalist and songwriter Sven Rebentisch, the former “Skeptiker” Andreas Kupsch and the guitarist Jens Bohm pick these emotions up in a skillful way and reach their listener’s hearts with their direct-striking giant lyrics. Thereby the band shows itself very manifold.

After the last electro-work “UNTER DER STADT”, which was created by Sven and Jens without Andreas, the new album “EMPATHIE” shows influences of darkwave and electro as well as Ska and Punk. The play with the genres and the look over the edge of the plate at the same time create a colourful mixture, which is quite and absolute danceable. “EMAPTHIE” offers the right song for every taste and every mood.

REBENTISCH acts surprising explosive and directly. A band that will provide for furore with a lot of pieces of legerdemain. The new album “EMPATHIE” is available from November 11th on in all stores.

In 2008 the berlin-based band DER ZERFALL was formed and released a self-titled EP in 2009 on afmusic, which is still available as a download. The band consisted of musicians of the bands REBENTISCH, DAS MONC, CABO DE GATA and VERLUSTPRINZIP and played a lot of great concerts in the berlin and rostock area.

The members were Sven Rebentisch [Vocals, Lyrics, Keyboards], Ragnar Kopp [Guitar, Bass], Jens Bohm [Bass] and Mike Lutz [Drums]. In the year 2011 the band was disbanded. All musicians now concentrate on their new musical challenges. So Andreas Kupsch, Jens Bohm and Sven Rebentisch will do in september 2011, to record the new tracks for the upcoming REBENTISCH-album ‘Empathie’ in the studio.

Rebentisch from Berlin are known for their surprises. The electronic, chansonesque dance through the metropolis life “Unter der Stadt” didn’t fade away, yet, there Mastermind Sven Rebentisch comes up with another creative output. Together with the sound-tinker Cabo De Gata he created a nightmarish, surreal audio drama, based on a short-story by Andreas Winkler.

In “Die letzten 7 Tage der Depression” (“The last seven days of depression”) the protagonist walks contrary and anyhow parallel to the christian genesis, through a banal reality, which forms itself to a destructive, blurred nightmare, because of his perception. Spoken Word, powerful lyrics and a congenial soundtrack of industrial, sound-collages and dark ambient. There is no better way to bring the experience of the main character’s destroyed inner-world right into your ear. An inner-world, which shifts more and more to the outside, rotates the experienced daily grind into a mystic reality, yes crazy, in which the listener loses himself together with the first-person narrator.

In the end of this seven days there is no redemption, no catharsis, no happy end, but a surprise. “Die letzten 7 Tage der Depression” is a dark, fascinating and disturbing work, on the cut surface of musical entertainment and ambitious literature. For fans of the earlier “Goethes Erben” music theatre, lovers of the spoken word albums by Thee Majesty (Genesis P. Orridge) and friends of David Lynch movies it is definitely a must-have.

Right now Sven Rebentisch and Jens Bohm are working together with Andreas Kuptsch, the former guitarist and band founder of “Die Skeptiker” on new songs for the next REBENTISCH album. After the last electro work “Unter der Stadt” the new songs incline in the direction of darkwave. Lyric-friends, who like to shake a leg at the same time, will get their money’s worth. The album will be expected released in late summer 2011.

In the middle of april 2011 Cabo de Gata & Sven Rebentisch will release their recorded short story “Die letzten 7 Tage der Depression” (“The last 7 days of depression”) officialy on afmusic. The radio play was written, spoken and lived by people, who experienced depressions by theirselves. Because of that this short story set to music is a authentic reference of the morbiddespair due to depressions.

The song “Angst” by REBENTISCH is about the death of a beloved person caused by AIDS. Appearing in the video is the Orden der Schwestern der perpetuellen Indulgenz (‘Order of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’), whose aim is to collect donations for people suffering from HIV or AIDS.

On 04/30/2010 the exceptional artist REBENTISCH from Berlin released his latest album “Unter der Stadt” (“Under the city”. He celebrated a party with friends where it’s dark-colored, creative, crazy, sophisticated lyrical, erotic, romantic and walked provocative and ironic.

“Unter der Stadt” is infamous, likeable, loopy, timeless, intelligent, electronic and above all soulful, romantic cabaret with New Wave Appeal, as can only come from Berlin.

Now, one of the album’s remixer adopted this one again and created an almost 36-minute DJ set. “Unter der Stadt” in the mix by Mike Pale unites all strengths of the album and makes it a consistently danceable experience.
