Leading UK Gothic Rock band Rhombus announce the release of “The Anywhere EP”. The Four track EP features the song “Anywhere” taken from the band’s acclaimed 2010 album “Open the Sky”. Completing the track list are a 12″ Remix of Anywhere produced by Stephen Carey (Eden House/Adoration/This Burning Effigy) and two brand new songs; “Timeless and Elegant” and “Nowhere”.

The EP is available now as a strictly Limited Edition CD direct from the band’s web site www.rhombus.org.uk and will be available from 11th of January 2011 onwards as a download released by afmusic and available from all major suppliers.

Says lead singer Ed “We wanted to put out something a bit special, so rather than simply release a single with a B-side we made a real effort on the new songs to try and match the quality of the album and then we gave Stephen Carey free reign to come up with an extended remix.” Indeed, a pre-release review for Dominion suggests that the track “Timeless & Elegant”, could easily have been a single in its own right.

Building on their storming performance at October 2009′s Whitby Gothic Weekend, 2010 has been a huge year for Rhombus, seeing their status rise from respected scene band to that of one of the leading lights of the so called “New wave of British Gothic Rock”. With the help of producer Carl Granberg and musician from Malmö and Lund Tobias Borelius from Emerald Park (Malmö, Sweden) has recorded a solo album with Swedish lyrics. “Du känner mig för väl, farväl” (“You know me too well, goodbye”) is a musical tapas table – small pithy and tasty songs spiced with humor, love, earnest and cynicism.

The musical theme of the record is the old analog synthesizers, the Nord Lead and the acoustic guitar. Where Emerald Park sometimes goes against the great and lengthy, Tobias solo songs is short and intimate. The sound is influenced by Swedish artists such as Familjen, Adolphsson & Falk, Kent and Olle Ljungström. But the goal during the recording process has always been to keep that “home-in” feeling that existed in demo recordings.

As a teaser for the album, the song “Hiro” will be available just before Christmas as a free download under a Creative Commons license. The whole album is going to be released on 01/14/2011 at Smaragd Records / Soundpollution in Sweden and on afmusic / TS-Musix in Germany. The download will be available simultaneously in all major online stores worldwide.

The mysterious Danish postpunk act (((S))) has spent a playfull summer in the studio recording 5 cover songs for a brand new release titled “The Deutsch EP”. On this record this ungoogable artist from the north pays his tribute to the 7inch single from way back when this media ruled the airwaves.

Each song appears in both in an english and a german version. Since Semtember 1st, the danish project (((S))) released one of these coversongs in english and german on every first of the month as exclusive download at Bandcamp ([1] [2] [3] [4]).

Four years had passed when Unfactory started to write new songs in the early 2010 for the successor of the “She Bleeds EP”. The exchange of ideas for songs and the music was carried out entirely via the Internet. And so the songs and the concept for “Lunacy” came up in cooperation with Chris in Portugal and Gustavo in Brazil.

The basic structure of the song was first realized with synthesizers in Aveiro and Florianopolis. The final recordings with bass, drums and vocals were made later during a one month long session in Brazil. As on the “She Bleeds EP”, Walmoli is playing the drums, Andrey the bass and Deedee is again responsible for the lyrics.

Fabio Della of Aerocirco (www.aerocirco.com.br), who was already playing the drums on Unfactorys first album, and Jean Gengnagel of Mottorama (www.myspace.com/mottorama) were two other colleagues involved in the recording – Fabio for a song on guitar and Jean as a helping hand when working on electronic Parts.

The result is a very complex and interesting album, which will now be released digitally on 07/12/2010 at afmusic.

Like a DeLorean time machine, Mach FoX’s sleek, sci-fi, horror, doom-pop exists simultaneously in the electropunk future and the retro-gothrock past. Twitchy computer beats, jittery synthesizers and ethereal, Cure-inspired guitars interweave in Mach FoX’s hall of mirrors, with Mach’s soaring, mournful vocals serving as a guide through the labyrinth.

While plenty of current bands cop the flash and glitter of 80′s electronic tinged gothrock, Mach FoX is one of the few to capture a bit of its soul. And so it’s no surprise the band has often been compared to such bands like The Chameleons, David Bowie, Killing Joke, or even DAF. And while many of these bands are referenced and glimpses of them can be felt and heard, Mach FoX has always tried to stay individual and original by mixing electronics with raw guitars and producing his music with a do-it-yourself approach and a fierce electropunk-attitude.

The Sky Is Falling EP combines recent tracks previously released as digital singles and special versions with 2 unreleased tracks. The artwork and EP title were provided by Santa Monica CA. multi media artist Chris Haugen whose work “encompasses the Human Vessel and Society, Inner Struggles and the Apocalypse”. Mach FoX could not have found a better match for his songs of betrayal and deception, evil doctors, dragons and grim reapers, future empires, serial killers, and tongues.

Posthuman Decadence tells the story of the struggling man, trying hard to give meaning to his life. Although he tries his best, he slips further and further away from his original nature. Art Of Empathy

ART OF EMPATHY is a one-man-project founded by Jef Janssen in Diest, Belgium. His music can be described as a mixture between neofolk and darkwave: grounded on acoustic guitars, combined with dreamy, dark synths and whispering, haunting vocals. Sometimes it’s dark romantical, sometimes apocalyptic. In the end it’s always nature-loving, driven by melancholy.

On this second album, Jef collaborated with other artists. The track Virile Earth is co-written by the Greek keyboard mastermind Q_Snc and on the track The Paradox Of Essence the input of the Belgian ambient project Sequences can be heard. Besides the danish boys from Anstalt delivered an amazing remix of two older ART OF EMPATHY songs.

A homage to Plastic Bertrand and Village people? Maybe! Maybe not! After great adventures, the ‘Naked Man’ has got dressed again to leave place to a plastic human, who is not lacking in emotion.

Then, Sébastien began to create songs with influences of post punk, rock and electro, mixing music, visuals and imaginary memories from the Stonewall riots. Sandy, the other part of Naked Man, is never very far away and regularly ready to write something.

Always between the past and the present, Plastic People is currently finishing a new album, which will show a little of folk in its compositions in order to create an emotional and nostalgic patchwork to be released in 2011. Plastic people kiss the listeners of afmusic.

The new ADVERSUS opus “Der Zeit abhanden” (“Lost in time”) with the sub-title “Elf Märchen für Entflohene” (“Eleven stories for escapees”) is released as a bundle of CD and book in early December 2010. The bundle brings the band’s fanbase what they have been waiting for: a new piece of conceptual art by ADVERSUS.

In collaboration of Sonorium with afmusic two songs from the album and the elaborately produced video of “Ein Ding im Spiegel” (“A Thing In The Mirror”) will be ready for free download from 22nd of November onwards.
