This is the first release of Chemical Waves, a project of Marco Cattani, a former member of the electronic band “Halo effect” (www.facebook.com/haloeffectband). This side project was born from desire to develop a different sound, the desire to experiment and explore a new musical form, a deep and intense sound running through dark atmospheres and obsessive rhythms. It’s a melancholy AND NOSTALGIC dark sound.

Chemical Waves is an open project involving in a next future different artists from other bands. All the tracks were written and arranged by Marco Cattani and Nicola Di Già made the mixing and recorded the guitars.

The first song called “The Origin” is a song, inspired by the evil nature of man, on a trip through the Jewish Museum in Berlin, from The Garden of Exile to Holocaust Tower.A place where silence is a lot of noise! The song is an obsessive and repetitive theme with a great atmosphere and impact, with a hypnotic guitar riff and an illuminated sampler of the voice of Carl Jung. The single contains an instrumental b-side called “The last straw”, a symbolic act in remembrance of all victims of human madness as well as a special version made by The Headcase.

The debut single from Chemical Waves is available from January 30th on at afmusic as a free download.

More than one year it was silent around the industrial rockers Cyber Snake. But this changes on November 22nd 2011, because then their new EP with the title “Drive” will be released. The solo album “Du känner mig för väl, farväl” of the Emerald Park’s singer TOBIAS BORELIUS was original released as a cd on january 14th on Smaragd Records in Sweden and afmusic in Germany. The download is available in all well-known online stores.

What or who do you think of, when you hear “The Open Up and Bleeds”? Words like open up or bleed cause some grim thoughts. After intensive listening to the album, you just feel very enthusiastic about it. Enthusiasm about an album full of strength and passion called “An act of love and violence”. What we got here, are four life-experienced men who got together in Stockholm in 2006. Together they created that what they represent with each and every song of “Open Up and Bleeds”: profoundness that tell stories.

Joel Segerstedt’s voice is the special something about the band. You cannot and also don’t want to compare them to any other band out there. For sure, “The Open Up and Bleeds” won’t be too disappointed about the fact that are incomparable and do not fit in any common scheme: they are just unique. Furthermore this album shows so many different facets…it surprises its listeners with many fast, but although many quiet and intensive songs. The sound, no matter if ballad or hard rock riffs reminds us a little bit of the 80s.

If oneself imagines a live show of “The Open Up and Bleeds”, you would think of a live open air on a deserted place somewhere out in Stockholm. Small crowds would circle around the stage and burst into this exceeding sound. An atmosphere that turns every summer night into something unforgettable. The instrumental part with bass (Thomas Meyer), lead guitar (Markus Johansson) and drums (Andreas Thunmarker) is great. Together with the voice of Joel they make the sound round. Unsurpassable! The Songs “I Don’t Wanna Die”, “The End”, “Lets Go Back To Modernism” and “This Noise” certainly belong to the more rocking songs of the album and ensure your feet will move around. The other songs are quieter and give you food for thought. These are songs like “Ok Is Not Ok”and “Cut Me A Live One”.

The album “The Open Up and Bleeds” created here, is a real masterpiece of art. Therefore it’s quite easy for someone to introduce his favourites. Especially two songs take hold of everybody. In these two songs you could find all qualities of the band combined. With 3:33 min of pure passion in Joel’s voice, “In the darkest hours” keeps you tied up. You can even sense what he wants to tell you. “Stiv Bators In All of Us” is just well. When oneself listens to this song, he just wants to stand up and dance around. And you can be sure you’ll not be the only one.

The two Musicians Olivier Tiriboulet (Bass, Vocals, Synths) and Delphine Bayard (Drums) met in june 2010 for the first time, in september they already started recording their first tracks. It didn’t take long until the band IGNITION880 left their mark, because in january 2011 they already had their first live performance.

Their energy and conviction as much as their music is already established. Their life is rock, sometimes in moonlight, sometimes in a kind of apocalyptic trance… It vibrates, to get the last one to dance.

Due to the small budget, the duo recorded their songs in their own living room in a live-session, which was pressed on cd to sell it on their concerts. The debut EP offers a varied sound pattern consisting of electro-rock, mixed with driving drums and experimental samples, garnished with a pinch of robotics.

Lovegrenade are a garage-psych-rock band from Tel Aviv (Israel), consisting of Dudi Malka (guitar, bass, vocals), Eran Nave (guitar, bass vocals) and Itay Sendowski (drums, keyboard, vocals). Their first album was recorded in a 24 hour live session in their studios, assisted by mastermind Charlie Megira, the so-called psych-rockabilly god.

The four songs on the “Slow 2004-2005″ compilation are taken from “Sadness Within” (2004) and the single “My Star” (2005). Emerald Park was at that time a completely different band, with different band members and a different musical preference. During the recording of “Sadness Within” the guys listened to bands such as Wilco, Jayhawks and Calexico. After the release of the record they wanted to find something else. They wanted the sounds to be lighter and more playful. More pop.

“Slow” and “Swimming in the rain” are taken from the debut album “Sadness Within”, recorded and produced by Stellan Colt. Former bass player Mikael Fredin wrote “My Star”. The song was originally more upbeat, almost punk-sounding, but when producer Carl Granberg heard the song in the studio he thought otherwise. Martina had recently found a toy, a small Casio. So the band used one of the beats from that one and it all started with the electric guitars playing against each other.

“My Star” was actually a minor hit at the student radio charts this year. Further more the band thought, that “Utopia” would sound like a rock anthem, something for the big stages. But Carl thought otherwise even in this case. He liked the original demo, recorded on an old tape recorder, and tried to keep that feeling.

The Single-EP “Slow 2004-2005″ will be released as a free download under a Creative Commons license on 10th of May on afmusic and 23 Seconds Netlabel (SE).

Nearly 3 years after the release of their album “Saturnine Songs” the complete back-catalogue of the Swedish indie rockers THE SEARCH is available as free download under a creative commons license.

Info: The Band Lotus Feed was originally founded in 1995. Followed by several line-up changes, founding members Alex (vocals) and David (drums) met guitarist Marten and bassist Lars, who completed the band in 2009. Ever since the band emerged as an insiders’ tip of the cologne oldschool-goth and post punk scene. Different in appearance and musical preference, the band members are influenced by the same roots: Bands like Joy Division, The Cure, Bauhaus, Killing Joke they all grew up with. So the Sound of Lotus Feed can be described as an impulsive drum and bass section added with singing, haunting guitarlicks that build the foundation for expressive vocals. A motley mixture of post punk, new wave, rock and good old 80ies independent music.
